April Garrett

April Garrett is a Partner in the U.S. Legal Practice at ECB STAR Group, where she leads partner-level placements across corporate, commercial, litigation, and entertainment, sports, and media. She brings notable depth in AI, data, and technology law in the Washington, D.C. market, advising firms on building and scaling practices across regulatory compliance, enforcement, investigations, complex litigation, transactions, and public policy.

Her approach is shaped by experience across legal, technology, and civic sectors, enabling her to anticipate shifts in legal demand and align talent accordingly. Prior to ECB STAR Group, she led senior-level recruiting, placing executives across engineering, product, design, and IT for companies including Nike, Walmart, and New York Life - experience that continues to inform her work building modern legal teams.

Earlier in her career, April held roles at Columbia, Emory, and Harvard, served on the senior staff of the NAACP, and founded Civic Frame Inc., a nonprofit focused on civic engagement. She is an alumna of Kenyon College, Columbia University, and Harvard University.
